When I was little I wanted to be a number of different things, including a marine biologist – but this was hindered by my crippling fear of sharks and deep water.

One thing that was constant throughout my childhood was my love of the written word. I’d spend hours reading under my duvet, at the bottom of the garden and even up trees which is no mean feat. I’d make up poems and stories to give to my family and friends which just caused my enthusiasm to grow.

So, it came as no surprise when I wanted to pursue copywriting as a career.

Based by the Dorset coast in Bournemouth, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some exciting and engaging clients both agency and client side.

By happy accident I’ve worked on some wonderful British heritage brands and been able to create content across print, social and digital. That’s not to say I can’t turn my hand to the more contemporary brands and businesses – I’m an avid social media fan, and sites such as Buzzfeed, Refinery29 and Mashable regularly contribute to my browsing activity.

I’m also a butcher for Meetdraw. A group of people that organise quarterly meet ups between creatives, agencies, clients and digital folk in the Dorset area.
